This beauty recently popped up at a car show in London Ontario Canada.
Not often you see a 13437 - 300 Deluxe - 2dr Sport Coupe (non-post) L78, TH400, 4.10's |
Shipped a few days after mine.
Paging Dan Vasic.......in the registry? I never seen it before. Looks like Plunkett's Estate in the background. He hosts weekly shows. |

What's with the Edelbrock intake manifold & the rubber hose fuel line going to the carburetor & the mickey mouse air cleaner
|
That's a Performer 2.0, which is for peanut port heads. The L78 must be gone. The car is beautiful.

Thanks! Absolutely a beautiful COPO Chevelle!

Edelbrock Performer 2.0

Pretty sure the Edelbrock 2.0 is for the standard oval port heads...the peanut heads were a later item and had really small ports. -wilma |
The 2.0 that I had a few years ago had very small ports. Maybe Edelbrock made them this way so that they could be ported, but they are much smaller than a standard oval port. I replaced the 2.0 with a Air Gap and those ports were much larger. There was quite a difference in performance with the manifold change.

A good friend of mine was speaking with the owner that night at Plunkett's. The gentleman is the original owner of the car and he said it still has it's original engine. He purchased it at the same dealership I bought my COPO from, B&A Chevrolet in Toronto, about 2 months prior to my purchase.

What a car!!! The gold 13437 and this one are the only 2 that I can recall having their original L78 engines. So sweet.
