Goodyear Blue Streak 5.50/9.75-15 Tire, New Old Stock
7 Attachment(s)
Beautiful unused 1960s vintage Blue Streak tire in the desirable 5.50/9.75-15 size. Very hard to find though I’m recommending it be used as garage art or static display due to age. Tough to find NOS; looking for $600 plus the ride or a good offer.

----So cool, Tony! If I had an extra 15 by 7 TT-D's magnesium wheel (I have 4 now) I would love to have this mounted for the cave....Bill S

Gonna show off my ignorance here. It's not like I could hide it anyway.
I don't get the tire size designations. I understand old tires (like 7.60 15). Section width of 7.6 inches for 15 inch rim. Virtually all were 78 aspect ratio, so that spec wasn't even listed. Can someone splain? Is 9.75 the section width (would guess that is close from the pictures)? And does 5.5 have something to do with aspect ratio? Too bad you don't have a pair of these Tony. Looks killer. |
No expert either, but I believe the 5.5 is tread width and 9.75 is the sidewall, I.E. section width.
Beautiful tire, wish they were reproduced, but even if they were, I couldn't afford a set anyway...:smirk: |
I believe the 5.50 is the tire height and this would be a 25.5" tall tire or thereabouts.
|
That makes sense. Tread width looks much wider than 5.5".
Have not seen that format before. |
Thanks for the info, gents!

Still have this awesome piece.
