Original tire market for ‘65-67 Corvettes
4 Attachment(s)
I’ve been tasked recently with estimating market value on a large collection of original tires (and some wheels) for ‘65-67 Corvettes. I found the Goodyear date coding decoder and have come to accept that no equivalent decoder is being known or shared for Firestone or US Royal/Uniroyal. I know that there’s a narrow but enthusiastic subset of the Corvette hobby that values these for all the Bloomington Gold points, but after hours and hours of research, it is apparent that these are trading hands privately more often than not, probably in a small circle of restorers/preparers. If any of you (napa68, TimG, olredalert) have any insight you could share about general real world values of never on the ground/minor wear/notable wear 775-15 Goldlines, whitewalls , etc. and how difficult or practical it is to actually sell them to end users, I’d really appreciate a 5 or 10 minute phone call. Tom @ (2 oh 6) 4five9-1563. Thank you!

I just saw this post, I'm glad SBR spoke with you.
I just bought a 1967 Laredo whitewall in 95% condition for $250. Do you have any Laredo Blackwall tires? |
Thanks for chiming in Tim. No blackwall Laredos, just a single blackwall Firestone Deluxe Champion. It’s a couple sets of Goldline Goodyears, a set of redline Uniroyal High Performance, a number of Whitewall Power Cushions and various 7.75 redlines. My customer has been chasing a couple C2s for years an was able to make a deal IF he also bought all the parts the man had collected. He’s only interested in keeping a single set of goldlines for the ‘66 L72 car he bought and wanted to understand approximately what the rest of the wheels and tires were worth before he sold them. A number of the tires are mounted on ‘65/‘66 Corvette steel wheels and ‘67 DC/DG rally wheels. I appreciate all of the input.
