Such a shame

This 1960 Bel Air was a daily driver until recently.
A woman drove this car everyday to her work at a hospital here in Fremont Ca.
She would take it for service at this restored gas station down the road from me here in Niles (a small historic community in Fremont).

I took several photos of this old run down ‘60 a couple years ago.
Then one day I’m driving through Niles and I see this ….. such a shame.
Someone plowed into the back of her cool old car. I was told she was fine but her daily driver is no more.

A tall tree and a short rope for the perpetrator I say...

Glad she is ok, but yes, such a shame...

Odds are cell phone usage was the cause.

My step son has been rear ended twice. Both drivers admitted to looking at cell phones instead of the road.

Unfortunately these damn cell phones cause more than just the loss of an automobile.
This ^^^ is the main reason I’m reluctant to drive my Survivors any more.

Very sad to see, and I doubt she is "OK". A hit that severe and no headrests surely resulted in a bad whiplash that will now haunt her for the rest of her days. I hope she is seeking medical and professional therapy recovery for this and the sooner the better, for any favorable outcome. I know many people who blow off the pain and stiffness as "temporary" and end up with a worsening condition....unfortunately, personal experience talking here...:frown:

That is terrible. Do you know my good friend Nate in Niles? He has a 58 Caddy and a 56 Buick. He hangs out at the flying A a lot.

Would that ‘58 happen to be white that’s mostly Original paint with great patina?
