Tail pipe hanger rebuild ?

Is there a source for replacing the rubber in the hangers to look original ? I'd do the rubber part, but the rivets look like a special machine to reach inside and compress them.

I know some of the rubber on my original hangers (69 Camaro) is old tire material. On the long intermediate hangers, you can even see some white wall streaks. So, sourcing the rubber wouldn't be difficult.

Can you use the pointed part of an anvil to back up the rivet?

No way to get anything I have between the sides. The spreader tool needs to be in the center and there's only 3/4" between the backer plates. Rivet is bucked from the outside on the head.
