'70 Chevelle Factory 4 Speed Convertible

Neat car ordered with very few options, but fortunately, the 4-speed was one of them.

A Wisconsin car, so there is some rust to deal with. Can't imagine laying out $45k for this, but that's the asking price, and I'm thinking it will sell for north of $30k in this market.

What is a restored 307 Malibu worth? Gotta be less than 45k.

Yeah, that's a 20k car all day long, as is, and probably why it ended up in CA. No one around here was going to pay more than that for it, even with it being a convertible. The 4 speed is the only other note worthy feature and seems like a waste behind a 307 2 barrel engine...:hmmm:

Nice color though.

With it being a 307 car I bet it has a Saginaw 4-speed not a Muncie...

Could be, I hadn't considered that. Were they still using the Sag behind the low hp cars in '70 ?
Build sheet indicates M20, but with a # sign ahead of the M. Might that be the indicator of a Saginaw ? I know they used the M code interchangeably in previous years for the 2.
As an aside, there are only 2 people "watching" this auction. Very unusual for a vehicle of this era. Thinking others are shaking their heads at the price too.
