HELP..Need a Firestone Tire GURU
10 Attachment(s)
Hey Guys
I just pulled this tire out of the trunk of my 69 Camaro RS/SS. I need some help. Can you guys take a look at the pics and tell me how old this tire is and did Chevrolet use this tire as an original OEM tire? The tire looks old and I'm trying to understand if this tire is an old tire and whether I should buy a Firestone sales display rack and display it in my garage....Thanks Ron |
I don't know how to read date codes, but yes, that is what a Wide Oval looked like in 1969. The ones everyone puts on 69's now is actually a reproduction of a 1970-up version. That one you got there is worth a ton btw... don't give it away.

Based on the mold stamp digits, its likely prior to 1971. Also the materials nomenclature indicate 1969 time frame tire.

Thanks Guys
Looks like a keeper. Better buy a Firestone Display rack along with a Rally Hub and trim ring and display it in my garage...Thanks Guys...

While the tire gurus are present. What tires would my 04C LA Z28 have come with? Thanks

That's a cool tire and one you don't see often at all.
I bought an NOS Firestone tire display stand a couple months ago for use with some old Firestones I have here. One of these days I should put it together. https://i.ibb.co/r5Rnnjm/IMG-9592.jpg |
