'66 Chevelle #s 396/360hp 4-sp Convertible
Sharp car for sure. What do you folks think about the deck stamp? I know the '66 partial VINs were notoriously messy, but this particular stamp looks like it's made up of a few different style characters, which I haven't seen before on a '66.

I'm no expert on '66 Fremont stamps but I've seen worse. Need to remove paint.
Again, is it too much to ask to give grille extensions proper blackout?!? |
I don't think I'd be scared off by that deck stamp, especially being a Fremont car.

The deck just seems to be too smooth.

That stamp is unquestionably bogus. They used some Tonawanda stamp fonts for the VIN stamp! 66 Fremont partial VIN would look totally different from that stamp. At that time frame Fremont was gang stamping a portion of the VIN, then hand stamping the rest. This one is wrong as to format AND fonts.
