69 Z28 Fuel Tank
 

Hi SYC,

I am looking for an 1969 NOS Z28 Fuel Tank. I have one but it has some dents that will show on the bottom of the tank when shown. Restorer doesn’t know if he can get it fixed correctly.

Rodger- I haven't seen one yet that was perfect
They were either shipped in brown paper wrappers or no protection.

I ordered one 15 years ago when you could still get them from GM. Came in all dented, they ordered another one same thing. They would not order another. The truckers must have tossed them around like footballs.

I got one from Autozone. The Spectra premium is cheap there. I decided to get one of those until I could score a 2/70 for the car I have...Joe

I must have been one of the lucky ones as mine is in excellent condition.
Picked it up at Year One in Georgia about 25-30 years ago un-boxed.
It is a 67-68 however and not for sale.

I bought one back in the 90's and it was not dented at all. Must have been one of the lucky ones. I do know alot of these NOS were dinged and dented when transported. Hard to find a nice one.

I bought one from D&R back in 95 and it was in perfect shape, still on my car. What i hear is these days a lot of guys have trouble getting good parts and even finding what they need.
