1967-1969 Z/28 302 Engine Parts Crankshaft, Rods/Pistons, Oil Pan, Timing Cover
10 Attachment(s)
These parts were all removed from a good running engine that was pulled out of a 1968 Camaro that was being restomodded. The block was a 1973 3970010 block but all the parts in the block were legit 1968 Z/28 302 parts. Since the block would not be used in a restoration, I decided to tear it down and sell the components to those in need. During teardown, I was shocked to see that not only was the bore size standard, but so were the bearings. I really wonder what required the block to be swapped out and unfortunately I will likely never know.
I have the following parts available from this engine: 1) 3923279(3279 forging) crankshaft. Standard size on the rods and mains. Never balanced or modified. Journals look to need a fresh turn but polishing may be possible. Super nice crank. $1000 2) Standard bore GM/TRW 3927172 pistons and press pin pink rods. No balancing or alterations. $500 3) Windage tray with mounting studs. Very clean with no breaks, repairs, or mods. SOLD 4) Timing cover for 8 inch balancer with mounting bolts. Original AOR tab. Stamped 4 68. I cleaned with plastic media to check for damage. No pitting, breaks, or repairs. SOLD 5) Factory oil pan. SOLD Thanks, Jason |

Jason or others, I have this same crankshaft with the 327 on the crank. Does this number denote a 302 large journal crank or what else would it be in. I guess it could only be a 302 crank?

302 crank
3279 is for a 1968 z/28 302 only . Not easy to find .

I will take Windage tray and studs.... Danny

Danny,
Sounds good. The windage tray and studs are all yours and I will save the pistons and rods for you until I hear back. Thanks, Jason |

Jason,
I opened the package for the windage tray and there was only 4 bolts? Wondering if you have the other laying around. Shows 5 in the picture... Danny |
