6,300-mile '71 Impala
Sold new at Gibson Motors in Fond Du Lac, WI...there's no mistaking that 'extra cost' undercoating job that so many WI/IL/MN cars were treated to. This is obviously not the most desirable of '71 Impalas, but the condition of the original trim is really nice to see. I was born in '78 so these cars were still everywhere when I was a kid, but they seem to have nearly vanished from the earth...which is surprising as there were hundreds of thousands of them made.
I still have a nostalgia for the '71-76 B-bodies and picked up a really nice original-owner '71 402 convertible last year. While these are definitely boats, they are really nice to drive and dead reliable with regular maintenance. The achilles heel, as you'd expect, is tinworm....
