Painted black or natural metal, or other?

Black oxide or parkerized iir?

Thanks guys. After looking at the clips in Chick's thread and looking at mine again, I believe they were painted black. The coverage is very even on both sides of the clip and after a dunking in evaporust (my pics) a lot of the black simply flaked off which wouldn't happen with a oxide type coating.
