Cool car with cool history :headbang:! Didn’t do themselves any favors by repainting non S&M livery.

Back in the early 70s, heard a "story" of a S&M car that was bought by some troops in NY. The car was primered and street raced for a number of years (never was beat) before someone finally figured out what the history of the car actually was and where it came from ... TAZ

This car never wore S&M livery in its career as a racecar. They never ran it, it was just built in their shop.

Just saw this 'Cuda has been relisted in the link below with a $60,000 opening bid and no reserve. Neat car.

Man, that’s awesome! I’d repaint that in an S&M livery for sure. :burnout:

But if this car was sold by S&M and not raced by them, it wouldn’t have had that livery to begin with. Additionally, if there’s no VIN or stampings on it, how do you know that this car was sold by them? Yes, there’s a receipt, but there would have to be a marking on the car to match the receipt to verify that yes, this was built and sold by S&M, no? And if I recall, Chrysler didn’t just give race teams a bunch of cars to build and sell, so what’s the behind the story of this car? Was it a leftover they never had time to campaign? :dunno: Just a few thoughts.

Cheers:beers:
Dave

I'm missing it. Built by a famous shop for a customer with a 340 engine.
33 years later it gets a complete new drivetrain. So it's a nice race car.
If Harrell built a 68 327 Camaro racecar for someone, would there be a big value add?? :dunno:
