Fixing a Repop

Here’s an early topper. They come switch all the caps in red, including the eye, which makes no sense, A friend, you guys prob know him, drilled a hole and put one of the eyes from the freedom toppers in his topper on his 70 T/A

I can’t get a pic to load. Wth.

Woody thanks. I tried the same pic and both were too large. I don’t get it.
I don’t remember those type of battery having an eye. Was it something you added? I have a friend with a bag of those, but he won’t give any up.
Is there a certain cell wich the eye would have been on?

Yes, that’s the type my bud has, funny you never see these on cars at shows.
We’re looking into doing a handful of them.

I removed the old caps off my repop batteries I used up and installed them on the toppers I bought. The clear eye I cut the plastic rod off and then installed. Look's a lot better with the correct caps than those topper caps they give you.

I can’t believe they get around 50$ for those and it’s all painted red. The eye I came up with on the freedom toppers is 2 PCs of plexi and it’s looks clos to the OG battery. I’m looking into getting say a hundred PCs of the green you see laser cut to do these.

This is what I did a few years ago on my topper. I drilled out my red eye on mine and cut off the stem of an original eye, polished the end and pressed it into the cap. I realize the cap is in the incorrect position but it was for photograph purposes.
