Wuddaya think? Got the 1.1 liter engine sitting in the Opel GT.

Can't put the tranny in yet, as apparently there is not rear cross member in the pile of parts.
Other than the cracked piston saga, sifting through piles of parts and bolts, and then not finding the bolts you need, has been the most frustrating.

Believe it or not, I found a rear cross member on ebay. It is different than the one that goes in the "big block" Opel GT (1.9 liter).

Getting there slowly but surely.

I think you got enough room to stick another one in there.

Man....if that's not the definition of "Tunnel Ram" I don't know what is! Looking good... very clean in there. Correct me if I'm incorrect, but doesn't the Opel have a manual headlight rotation lever by the console to flip up and down the headlights? A buddy I flight instructed with had one, and since we both instructed in Cherokees which had a lever like that for the flaps, we always joked about red lights coming up and the need to slow down and call "Speed checks....Headlights up!" For additional aerodynamic braking. Did it work?:dunno: No.... but we had fun none the less and look at me now!

Cheers
Dave

It would be a fun exercise to put a modern GM Ecotec 2.0 Turbo in one of those Opel GTs. :)

275 hp would be a lot of fun in that little car. Might be a little too tall for the low hood line though.
