L78 Nova wheels
I have seen several Ads that claim you could only get the SS wheels on a 396 Nova, Is that a fact?

https://www.gmheritagecenter.com/doc...rolet-Nova.pdf GM Heritage says you could get them with the "Nova SS." Does not stipulate an engine requirement |

The only Chevys to come standard with the "Super Sport " (N66) wheels were the 1969 and 1970 Chevelle SS
A dealer trying to sell a car is probably the least reputable source for facts. Dealer ads probably come in second. 14x7 body colored steel wheels with hubcaps were standard on the 1969 and 1970 Nova SS - the only years RPO N66 was an option. E70x14 redlines were standard on the 1969 Nova SS while E70x14 white stripes were standard on the 1970 which did not offer redlines as an option. Raised White Lettered tires did not debut on the Nova SS until the 1972 model year. The 1969 and 1970 Nova SS 396 cars were never available with the 396/325 HP engine. 350 and 375 only. |
On my 70 SS Nova The N66 was a $79.00 option.

SS Wheels...
The SS option on the Nova included the RPO L48 350/300hp small block V8...the big blocks were an option. The N66 SS wheels were also an option, but they had no connection to the engine size, only the Super Sport package.
I checked our window sticker from the black 70 L78....$79 for the N66 sport wheels is what is shown. -wilma |
14x7 rally wheels were also available on a 69/70 Nova SS..BKH
