69 Nova Big Block Power Steering Pump Rebuild

Can anyone verify the correct painting or appearance of the GM power steering pumps or what do they look like? Are the cans or reservoirs satin black in color with a cast coat colored pump, or is the entire pump painted satin black in color? Of course the bolts will be a phosphate in color I'm guessing? Thanks everyone in advance!

In Macneish's book he says brackets and pulley should be 60% gloss but doesn't say what color the pump should be. Do a search on here about difference in BB power steering pumps. Shows pumps taken out of out of the original boxes.

I just looked at the pics. I would say pump And can color 60% gloss black.

Warren, Thanks a million for that fabulous information and pic tutorial! Great job! Here's a few snapshots of my finished product. Not perfect, but close enough for me and my personal project. Thanks again!

Does anyone have any pics you can post of the mounting bolts and spacer for the support assembly 3946017? This mounts to the front hole of the driver exhaust manifold and the hole in the block just below the exhaust manifold? The bolts that I have are a matched set for the manifolds, but there's no longer bolt in this set to accommodate the thickness of the bracket and spacer that's mounted to the front hole of the exhaust manifold. The assembly manual shows a spacer and a longer bolt, but Id like to know the size and dimensions like the thickness of the spacer and length of the bolt. Thanks!

I found the spacer or washer that sits between the bracket and manifold. I also found the bolt that I think is correct, but I would still like to see reference photos from other members originals. Thanks!
