1969 z 28 302 cam kit

looking for a cam kit for the 302 I got I herd that the comp cam kit works very well what is the part # s for those kits

I have two of the comp cam kits still in the boxes. I believe cam, lifters and springs, but will have to go down to the garage and make certain. That is what Jerry M uses. I would sell one for less than you can get it at Summit, etc. if you are interested.

Send me a PM if you want one.

Lynn , hi is this cam kit like a factory replacement or is it a newer profile cam that will actually run better than the original?

Lynn, can you perhaps tell me what springs they were running in that kit? Were they the 981-16 springs?

Jerry M has some posts on the CRG website that state what springs he runs. He uses the Comp Cams kit CL-107-3, which is cam an lifters in his world record holding 67 Z/28. No springs come with that kit. I cannot remember the part number of the springs he uses.

Comp recommends 981 or 986 springs. Haven't a clue what the diff is between those two numbers, but guessing the web site has the info.

Unfortunately the CRG forum has been down for a few days. Hopefully, it will be back up soon.

I have not run them side by side, so can't say.

Here is the comp cams website that has the specs:

Looks like one spring is a larger diameter, because it says the heads need machining to use.
