The 350 4 speeds sell for around $50K to $60K with original drivetrain. How much time, effort and money will you invest in a car like this one to get into the condition as one you could just plunk down your money and drive it away.
Alot of people really want one but simply don't have 50-60K to spend all at once. Something like this lets the entry level guy get his foot in the door.
Charley, I think u make a good point. I hadn't really thought about it in that way much before. It's almost like paying interest to a bank I think, except it could be at a much higher rate.
I'd do this one Day 2, with engine dress up (since the 350s were kinda' blah looks-wise) and maybe period-correct American 200S wheels.
I agree, cars like this allow people access to the hobby that they wouldn't have had buying a finished car.
Plus it's really kinda fun to build these cars. If you only knew how many builders buy the project, hunt for parts, build the car and then sell only to do it over again.
Very true. Searching for parts and doing the work is more fun for me than driving them....
