1974 Z28 ?

I need some help with a item on a couple of 1974 Z-28 I recently purchased. I have included a picture. Question is what is this, both cars have it and its looks like some type of switch on the drivers inner fender. I am sure someone out there is an expert and can tell me what it is used for. Thanks for any help

You might want to post this question at the BEST 2nd Gen Camaro web site
www.NastyZ28.com. Probably in the ORIGINAL Drivetrain Forum

btw: extremely easy to post photos now at nastyz with new software,
not requiring a hosting site....directly from your puter or device

Seatbelt interlock system main switch

Phil is correct. It's part of the seat belt interlock system. It's an override relay that allows you to start the car when there's a failure with the seat belt interlock system. There's a short paragraph in the 1974 service manual on how to use it.

A 74Z with A/C,not many of them.
The rubber cap is missing on the seat belt switch.

Re: 1974 Z28 ?

Heres the top of it. You depress it to over-ride the seat belt lockout. You have to be sitting in the seat and have the seat belt fastened to be able to start the car. This switch over-rides that feature if you need to start it. Its kind of a pain in the ass but mine does work. Look under the driver side seat and you will see the components for this.

So now, just to be clear, that is not the "reset" button HRC gave to Putin?
