Walnut steering wheel parts

Hi all.
I am looking for OEM hub and horn button assembly for a '69 style GM walnut wheel.
Thanks in advance.

Wouldn't that be 69 hub you are needing? Is not the wheel you show in the Technical section a shallow 69 wheel? Regardless, a 69 hub will be different than a 68.

Yep, my screw up. Here's a side pic showing the depth.

That's a 68 wheel. 69 is much shallower. You can put it in a 69 with a 69 hub, but the wheel is gonna be closer to your chest than it should be.

IIR there is little if any difference in the hub height of either year. The diameter of the hubs are different because of the key in column on 69 which , in turn , also makes the column longer than a 68, hence the shallow wheel. And yes, that is not a 69 wheel.

No, 67/68 hubs are both taller, and smaller diameter as well. If installing this wheel in a 69, on a 69 column, you'll need a 69 hub. I'd personally be looking for a correct shallow offset 69 walnut or rosewood wheel, but this will technically bolt onto a 69 hub. Horn cap and contact set is all the same for 67-69 by the way.

Damien,

Was this steering wheel advertised as a '69 and you purchased it? Or was this out of your '69 Chevelle?

Thanks everyone for their input. My education continues.

Dan,
It was the one advertised and I thought judging by the side pic it was a '68 but the guy was adamant it was a '69 as that was the what it came off, which obviously doesn't mean much. I figured if it wasn't right for my Chevelle I would just move it on as I didn't pay a huge price for it.

May be an opportunity for someone here? Buy, swap, trade for a '69 wheel? It is currently still in the US so it can be sent wherever.
