Are 72 Olds W30s that valuable??

I saw this car today, and thought wow, what a cool survivor. But its a 72. The fact that it is a survivor and a one off color, makes it maybe interesting to someone here. I imagine torque is torque and it should be close to as fast as the 70-71s..?? But value, not sure.

well..its got documentation...also its in the VIN...unless there a build sheet...the rest is speculation..how would you prove dual disc...etc etc...

i dont believe for a minute its the only one in that color..i believe its a special order..but the only one?you need rock solid documentation to prove it...and who would give that?...gm just didnt keep records like that....theres just no way to get that info

I believe a 72, 442, W30 just crossed the block at Mecum. I know it was bid into the $70k's range but not sure what it sold for. It was a beautiful car!

237 cars were equipped with the dual-disc clutch through June, with July numbers missing. This is straight from the GM Heritage Center.

I think its a great car ........... for the person that loves survivors, its a great price. For the person that likes a fully restored car, 90 is a bunch, if you want to restore the car, your going to be way upside down. 72's are great though, an X in the vin makes it a lock that its a W30 and I like that. If I did now have our Black car, I would pursue this, I love it

----After just finishing the vintage tire thread I couldn't help but notice the Radial TA's. Don probably has a set of originals in stock! Nice W-30 though. Why would anyone restore a properly cared for 11,000 mile car?......Bill S

Yes, 1972 W30's are very cool cars. You could not get AC on them, either.
