3.55:1 Gears
Is it possible that a COPO order for a 70 Yenko would/could include a request to GM that the car be built with 3.55:1 gears? My car (at least according to a prior owner) may have come from the factory with dated 3.55: 1 rear end gears( as a 1 0f 3!). Is it possible to document this claim?
Several members have suggested that they were probably installed at the dealership (Yenko); but, I really don't know? Thanks far any input. Rick |
Re: 3.55:1 Gears
Rick -- as far as when Mark owned the car ... I have no idea what gear was in that car back then ... just assumed it had 4:11s ... TAZ

Re: 3.55:1 Gears
Should be able to tell by the axle code. CBV for a 4.10 or CBT for 3.55.
Same location as 69. More info here: 69 Camaro axle codes. Even the same code, except all the 70 axles have a "C" in front of the 69 two letter code. So a 69 Camaro BV axle became a CBV for 70, used on late Camaros (around Aug. 69) and the 70 Nova. |
