Evans Waterless Coolant
|
Re: Evans Waterless Coolant
I am using Evans Coolant in a recently rebuilt 1970 Chevelle LS6. (800 miles since rebuild)
I have experienced no problems. Engine temp. swings between 205 and 215 depending on ambient temperature. If there is a down side, it has not shown up yet. |
Re: Evans Waterless Coolant
What is the cost difference between Evans Coolant and Conventional Coolant? Don't you have to fill the system with 100% Evans Coolant verses Conventional 50% Coolant & 50% water? A few customers ran it in the 7.3 Ford Power Strokes when they first came out. I can't seem to justify the benefits for what it cost. Kinda like Amsoil, but that's another story (don't shoot the messenger). Just trying to learn here.

Re: Evans Waterless Coolant
Yes, Bill, you have to get virtually all of the old water/coolant mix out.
I wouldn't consider it for a conversion, but I am building an engine to go in my 49 Studebaker truck so wouldn't have to clean out old coolant. Cost is significantly more than traditional coolant. Lots of internet debates on this. Guys on both sides get as passionate as the arguments for/against zinc in oil, and whether 60's GM wheels are lug centric or hub centric. I was simply looking for input from those with personal experience. |

Thanks Lynn,
Maybe someone here with real world, long term use of Evans Coolant, can enlighten us on the benefits to justify the co$t. Bill |
