Hardware plating

Does anyone know or have a list of what all the different hardware should be plated for my 69 z? Or where I could go to find it? Tried to do some searching but it seemed to be mostly one or two different items. The Jerry m book only lists a few different items... Thanks

if you have an assembly manual and the amk catalog, its not too bad too see what the bolts were with head markings. most were phosphate with a few clear zinc such as the ground straps and washer bottle bracket

I know most of the fender hardware was phos. But when it comes to the power brakes, wiper motor, engine accessories, voltage reg, horn relay and engine ( and many more) I know there was a variety of different plating used...some is gold, some is silver, some was Grey phos some was black phos.....in the end which is which and where!!!

Re: Hardware plating

There is different types of PHOSPHATE Plating..........Gray, Black, Charcoal is NOT a type !!!!!!

My research says that MANGANESE Phosphate was the Original OEM plating on Automotive Fasteners

ZINC Phosphate plating was used on many others brackets, etc etc
