Ansen 2 piece scattershield
Will a Ansen 2 piece scattershield fit a big flywheel for 11" clutch? Numbers on 6 bolt scattershield are 5004 T top and 5002 T bottom. Need a spacer?

Re: Ansen 2 piece scattershield
I do not remember the numbers on my 2 piece Ansen scattershield, but it did fit my BBC 11" clutch with no issues. I did not have to use a spacer.

Re: Ansen 2 piece scattershield
NOt sure if by "spacer" you mean the block protection plate, but you should have the protection plate in place.....to protect the block

Re: Ansen 2 piece scattershield
Thanks for replies. The spacer I was referring to is if one is needed to lower the bottom cover to clear the bigger flywheel. Not sure on block protection plate for ansens though. There are different bottoms that I have seen on those for sale on eBay. Will post pictures tomorrow on what I have.

Re: Ansen 2 piece scattershield
My Ansen "NHRA APPROVED" never used a plate, and was never sold with it new.

Re: Ansen 2 piece scattershield
What is the application of the scattershield you are asking about? The fact that you say 6 bolt and your screenname makes me think this is a Ford application.

Re: Ansen 2 piece scattershield
I have an Ansen that uses a spacer for the bottom.

Re: Ansen 2 piece scattershield
The Scatter shield I have is for a Chevy. I have a big flywheel and compared to a 621 bell housing it looks short. I bought a spacer and had to modified it to fit. I'm not sure on the size of the spacer. There is a 1968 Car Craft article discussing scatter shields and listed Ansen having multiple models.

It is a vintage gasser. Thanks |
