1970 Chevelle NOS Bucket Seat Vynil Inserts
6 Attachment(s)
For Sale >>> Very Rare 1970 Bucket Seat NOS "Bead to Bead" inserts. GM #8769761 Upper Bucket Seat & #8769760 Lower Bucket seat. Nothing better than NOS 1970 Chevelle Interior pieces.
These are Bucket seat inserts from Bead to Bead with GM part numbers on the back. My former LS6 car had one inserted on the bottom of an original bucket seat that had a tear in it. I dyed a Tan one into Black and it has been in the car for over 10 years with no issues what's so ever. See photo below of Black interior of my Former LS6 car (The bottom of the Passenger Bucket seat is an NOS piece that was Tan and Dyed to Black, Over 10 years of wear and it looks amazing still to this day) One photo shows a dyed test half and half sample which I did 6 years ago just using the SEM cleaner with SEM black Dye. I have bent it, scratched it and so on and the SEM dye stays perfectly nice. Special price of $80 a piece NOW $50 a piece Paypal "Friends & Family" only. If you have an original interior with one tear in a bucket seat this is a great opportunity to replace that original piece with an NOS part. The detail on the diamond pattern part of the inserts are so crisp you can grade cheese on them. Backs have stamped in jute padding and sponge for the detailed pop up patterned mid lines. Please PM me for any ?'s, Add $25 for shipping. |

Re: 1970 Chevelle NOS Bucket Seat Vynil Inserts
Hey Dan
I installed a set of dark green inserts in my tired old orig buckets found the orig dark green Material and had them redone to orig specs. I Have a whole roll of dark green material which I purchased just to have it on hand. There is enough material to do 3 interiors. If you need some I can part with some. You most def can purchase the material for any collour from a reputable seat restorer. The diff of orig seats and repro seat covers is huge. I GRADE cheese on the diamond pattern on my orig seat inserts Cant post a pic of my interior right now. PJ Edited by P.J. (Yesterday at 12:59 PM) |
Re: 1970 Chevelle NOS Bucket Seat Vynil Inserts
They do look good, but I have to take issue with the term,"dye" here.
They're painted, not dyed. Dye is a different animal altogether that consists of absorption into a material which will not come out if done properly. And if it does, not completely as it will literally stain the fabric forever. You can scratch a painted material off to reveal it's true undercoat, easier then you can a dyed. From the SEM website: Color Coat™ is a specialty elastomeric coating formulated to restore or change the color of most vinyl surfaces, for flexible and rigid plastics, carpet and velour. Color Coat is not a dye,but a fade resistant flexible and semi permanent painted coating. |

But as you say, Dyeing them will make them even better. Rick which Black Dye would you recommend in using? |
