I remember sitting in that car and talking to Reggie about it at Barrett Jackson in 2003. Sure seemed like a good car and the real deal!

Wouldn't that throw the tailshaft off to the right? I believe the BBC in Novas is offset to the right for clearance, etc. TAZ

I do not believe that a sbc with a 4 spd would use a bbc cross member because it pushes the mounting point over to the passengers side about 5/8" and it would not line up correctly like earntaz mentions in his post.

Re: 1970 Chevrolet Nova Yenko Deuce

All 4 speed Deuces came with a BB cross member, we don't know exactly why. I speculate that it's due to GM reusing COPO 9737 from prior year(s) where it was utilized on BB cars. I once did measurements on the Pontiac SB version which looks exactly the same but without the ~1/2" offset, and found that the Deuces did indeed use the Chevy BB version. The Deuces also use BB shifter rods.....

Was about to post the same thing. This car was on a poster of Novas of different years that was out there 20 or so years ago. It had ladder bars on it. I seem to remember John Ohler owning this car and having it at one of the SCRs in Collinsville. I don't remember it being an original drive line. I talked to a guy at the Cedar Falls swap meet years go that said a friend of his owned it, and raced it for a while. No idea if that was true, or a bs story.
