Shipping a motor

I purchased a motor in Virginia that I have to get back to Connecticut. The seller has agreed to strap it to a pallet and crate it and deliver it to a truck terminal. I will pick it up at a terminal in CT. Any recommendations on trucking companies that can do this? I see some online freight companies who do this type of thing but have also read some pretty bad reviews regarding their services and charges. Thanks for the help.

I've used Forward Air multiple times with good luck. Fair prices and fast service. Last I shipped with them, they required full payment, with money order, when the item was dropped off for shipment.

Good luck.

I used freight pros and had a cast iron torqueflight shipped. It was on a Roberts truck to and from. Roberts is actually close to me. Freight pros was cheaper than using Roberts themselves but I could go on to Roberts website and use them too

freightcenter.com I've shipped close to 100 motors using this site. You deliver the motor to the terminal and buyer picks it up on his end freight collect. It gives you multiple companies to pick from. I use old GM motor crates normally. Larry

Thanks for all the help. Working through this now. There are huge differences in quoted costs.

Have him strap it to a pallet and you and your wife take a ride to Virginia and pick it up at his place if possible. A little get-a-way from the cold. Not a bad ride for you.
