Russo & Steele

Has anyone heard how Stefano did at Russo Steele? I thought his red Olds was due to hit the block last night.

It goes tonight. Money is weak at RS,to their credit they are working the bidders hard and giving decent block time.

My friends here from IL went to R-S on Thursday....they told me it was $15 to park (triple what it's been in the past) and $30 spectator entrance fee (50% increase). Could explain the sound of crickets.

All the auctions to seem to be increasing all their prices.
I have to wonder how many sellers end up ahead when it ends up costing them approx 20% in fees?
I your car gets bid to $100,000 the buyer pays $110,000 but seller walks away with $90,000.
You have to be a real risk taker to put your car on the block at no reserve in my opinion.

"NICE" cars up for sale ???? The "NICE" cars with or w/o docs .....with out original power train
but otherwise nice paint, interior, chrome, detail ????

It seems the Auction Companies are making money from several different angles,
Back in the good old days a seller paid a reasonable entry fee and maybe a 5% to 8% commission if his car sold ,,,now the seller pays a big entry fee, a bigger fee if you want a good auction time, and buyer gets charged a commission also,

My experience with R&S: Early sign up (August or so) may allow you to avoid entry fee altogether or at most a nominal fee ($100 to $150). Your car, generally, will drive what slot it gets. They will not put a $25K car shortly before (or after) a $300K car. The flow of the auction is like a sine wave (gradually ramping up in value then ebbing in value and so on) The auction house wants to draw in the big spenders by putting prestigious/rare/well done/desirable cars in the hot slots such as 8:00 pm. on Fri or Sat. Of course there are exceptions to the rules too that seem to defy logic.
