Muncie 4 Speed
I have a Muncie 4 speed that I took out of my 70 bigblock nova 15 years ago after it was stolen and wadded up like a beer can, wondering if it was the original or somebody put it to replace the original. If the stamped numbers on it are part of the VIN# they don't match https://www.yenko.net/ubbthreads/pics...217_144958.jpg

Re: Muncie 4 Speed
Looks good.
P=Muncie 0=1970 model year S=November 19=19th day B=M21 This has the correct side cover and center housing for your car. Depending on the plant you may find your VIN near the date stamp or also look on top of the housing near the rear flange. Should also have a 3857584 extension housing. Hope this helps. Rick |

Re: Muncie 4 Speed
My guess on the 'B&M 388' stamp is it's from some trans shop that went thru it at some point in time (March of 88?)
Unfortunately, not all transmissions (or engines) got the CON VIN stamping to show exactly what car it originally came in. They were to be stamped on an assembly line by a human being, and mistakes/omissions were not unheard of. |

Well the car isn't around anymore so i'll put it in my 72 nova with a smallblock and have fun. Thank you for the info |
