Has anyone here used vinegar or CLR to flush a cooling system? Results? TAZ

I knew a guy back in the day who used to use Coca Cola...did a pretty good job.

Just don't drink it afterwards

Yep -- as kids we used to clean pennies with the Coke ... AND we did not drink it afterward! TAZ

Whatever you do make sure you use the proper stuff to neutralize it afterward. I was at my buddy's service station over the weekend and he had a waterpump from a Jeep he was replacing. The owner used some over-the-counter flush formula and never fully took the stuff out of the system afterwards. The stamped steel impeller no longer had any blades on it anymore and just looked like (and was as sharp as) one of those martial arts throwing stars. It was paper thin and frighteningly dangerous to handle. The acid just ate it away.

Noted Steve and thanks -- intend to use baking soda to neutralize the acid ... flush often.

Have been looking at Thermocure by Evaporust, just wondered if anyone has used it and could comment on good/bad points?
