1967 Camaro Cowl Tag
 

Hi Gents,

Any support in decoding the trim tag would be appreciated. Also, an opinion of the rivets would be great too.

What does the car decode as, rivets aside? I know the paint is turquoise with black gut, no headrests...

Rivets are from ace hardware. I have never seen a 67 tag with zero options! None! Dan, I would be checking hidden vins and make sure the tag belongs to that car. All that tag shows is a coupe with black interior.

That should be a six banger with no options, what is the vin#?

I had a 327 2-bbl Camaro, also built 11B at LOS, that was a 3-on-the-tree car and it also had zero options on the tag. It also came with its original protect-o-plate.

I have seen a few other &quot;no option&quot; trim tags. With respect to the tag in question there really is no need to doubt it as being real because there is no need to fake a cowl tag that says nothing. Probably had another reason for being taken off such as restoration or tag was removed from another car and placed on this one. You might start by comparing the build date to the vin #.

Hi Guys, thanks for the information and Buddy, good chatting yesterday on these '67s.

I'm not going to post the VIN because it is not my car (yet) but after comparing VIN/build date ranges, I'm very certain the tag is not original to this car. I have no doubt it is an original car but evidently it is off a different car.

Over the years I have seen a few cars that had zero options, so they do exist. New car dealers advertise cars with a low price to attract prospective buyers; factory brand divisions do it all the time on tv. Many times those &quot;price leaders&quot; are the base car with no options. &quot;Truth in advertising&quot; requires that the dealer must have at least one of the specific type car that is being advertised available especially if that ad wording says &quot;available for immediate delivery&quot;.
