Re: Please help identify these
Sure looks like the big car ones I've seen. Can you post pics of the back sides?

Re: Please help identify these
Yep, They look like '63-'64 full size accessory wire wheel covers. Corvair had them too but they were 13".

Found this link to the wheel covers above. You'll have to scroll down and check out the pics. They were available in 13" & 14" for Corvairs, Chevelles & Chevy II's...

Re: Please help identify these
the Jan 1st 1967 fed regs prohibited the use of the spinners on wheel covers ... that is why the 67 Camaro shown above have the (same) covers with the "safe" (thx Feds) wheel centers
Ford had the same issues with their attractive spinner wheel covers too side note to that same regulations that went into effect during that same time protecting us from ourselves were the collapsing steering columns, dash knobs, steering wheel centers, spring loaded hood ornaments (the Continental star comes to mind here), probably more that I can't state examples of right now too |
Re: Please help identify these
Nice info. I knew they were used on full size cars in '66, but didn't know beyond that. It's kinda the same reason they changed the 65-66 SS spinner wheel covers. In general they look the same, but the '66 SS spinner sits lower in the wheel cover basket than the '65.
