Tachometer installation for a 67 L78

Hello I am looking for some sound technical advice. I have an original speedometer with a temperature and fuel gauge combination. I want to swap the fuel gauge etc out for a tachometer. I also want to fit a reproduction gauge package to take the place of the deleted fuel and temp gauge. I therefore have the following questions;

1. What is involved in swapping the gauge package for the Tachometer? Is there any extra parts required apart from wiring?

2. I believe the tachometer does not require a tach drive distributor, is this correct?

3. I have a bench seat 4 spd manual with no console, therefore is it still possible to mount the gauge package by inverting it and mounting under the dash? Also are the gauges also able to be turned around in the mount?

Any help would be appreciated
