Trim Tag - too much paint
I have my thinking cap on and I have my own ideas....but I wanted to hear some other opinions.
This car just returned from the restorer, they applied way too much paint to the trim tag. How would you remove the paint off of this Trim Tag without damaging the Trim Tag and the rest of the newly painted cowl section. REMOVING THE TRIM TAG.....in NOT an option. Re: Trim Tag - too much paint
dan, what kind of paint did they use? chemical stripper should work. mask it off really well, make sure you don't get any stripper behind the trim tag and you should be fine. 000steel wool and repaint.

Use some good quality foil tape around the tag, and work it down well with a tounge depressor, then go at it with the stripper. Stay clear of the tape edge And you might try some lacquer thinner first, may work if the paint is still green ? Mike |

Re: Trim Tag - too much paint
Are you sure it's paint thickness? Maybe a combination of over media blast, and heavy paint?
