In grond lift

We are moving Dec. 1 & 2. I will be rehabbing a two car garage space into my detached workshop. Part of the rehab will be radiant floor heating, and a lift.

I worked as a professional mechanic in a previous life (seems that long ago) and always worked with in ground lifts. I am going to need to do some concrete work anyway, and started thinking about an in ground.

My brother still owns the shop I started in 1983, and in his new location has all above ground lifts, a Mohawk, a couple of Forward, and the rest Rotary. I use the shop regularly on weekends, and just don't like the above ground lifts. The lift going in my work shop is strictly for work not vehicle storage. I am pretty sure I am going with an in ground, either Challenge or Rotary.

I see discussions of pros and cons on here from time to time, and of course price is always mentioned. I can't say money is no object, but can say current prices don't scare me off. Some guys have mentioned problems with low profile cars. But, my Z is lowered, and I can't lift it with any of his above ground lifts without driving on to 2x6 boards. Figured I would do the same on an in ground two post. This lift will ONLY be used to work on cars, not to store them. I will have one area with the lift and still have a flat next to it. There will be no finished projects of any kind in the building, only works in progress.

Sorry for the long intro. My question is this: Is there anyone out there who has an in ground lift installed and regrets it? Other than being more expensive, and harder to move, I see no down side. This is my last stop before the nursing home, so I don't care if I can't move it.

Thanks for any input.

One other in ground option is the in ground scissor lift.

Anyone have one of these:
