Motion Camaro Hood

Thought I would mention this should anyone here have interest...

I answered a CL ad today for some wheels and when I went to pick them up I noticed a hood leaned up against the wall in the garage. He proceeded to inform me that it was a Camaro Baldwin Motion hood. He said Wayne Guinn has been to his home and verified that it is indeed the real deal. Wayne took photos of it and is apparently going to be writing an article and including it for some magazine or publication he is doing. The hood was fiberglass, has a BM sytle stinger and attaches with 4 hood pins. The holes for hood hinges are there but have never been tapped out. Looked like it had remnants of blue paint. He says it is the same style hood that is on the "Mean Greeny" or "Green Meany" (or something like that) Camaro.

Anyway, the gentleman said he was ready to sell it. I asked how much and he said Wayne appraised it at $2500, so I guess he is looking for something in that ballpark. Thought I would mention it here in case anyone has interest. If so, send me a PM and I'll put you in contact.

Re: Motion Camaro Hood

The green meanie hood was the L88 style not the stinger
I have one of these hoods, It is the L88 style hood

There were a few companies making them so its hard to ID the ones used by Motion but there are some differences on the top and bottom between different mfg

The L88 hood was first used on the Green Meanie which was a 1969 Z/28 built by Motion and Cars Magazine as a response to the Blue Maxi Car and driver Z/29 LT1 raffle Camaro

The last one I saw on ebay sold for $650 so I don't know where those high prices are from.
