Someone else using my pictures as their own again.
What is is with people these days?!?
While perusing eBay I stumbled across this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Holley-Fast-Idle...ab1&vxp=mtr Take a look at the pics, then click HERE and scroll down...look familiar? I know it's just a pic of some random parts, but it still bothers me. This isn't the first time it's happened either. A couple of years ago, I caught Ground Up using my Holley carb pics off of my website on their website. (still have the screen grabs from that) I was not amused. It took quite a bit of phone jockeying, but I finally managed to get to one of the upper-ups and they had the pics down later that day (naturally they feigned ignorance, telling me their carb supplier was the one who provided them with the pics). If someone wanted/needed to use one of my pics, all they'd have to do is ask and chances are I'd agree. I guess I'm going to have to start watermarking every pic I post now. |

You should at least copyright your choice of paper towels as background.

Re: Someone else using my pictures as their own again.
I can't tell you how many people steal my auction descriptions on ebay and use them as their own.

Doesn't surprise me at all that info and material posted on Yenko.net is used to sell something. He should have asked. To my point though, I find this forum has a very large influence- significantly beyone the # of registered users. Thanks to everyone who contributes!

Re: Someone else using my pictures as their own again.
Reminds me of the time about 8 or 9 years ago when I got the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction catalog in the mail, there was a picture of my Chevelle convertible to be auctioned off. How did I know it was my car, and not just one that looked identical? My house was in the background of the photo. As my wife and I were attending the auction anyway, we met up with the owner of the car being auctioned (it was visually identical to mine) and he told me that was the picture that he was provided when he bought the car in pieces. Once something is out on the internet, you never know where it may show up.

That darn INTERWEB:-)
Ryan Bill, you can't really blame him for using a picture of your Chevelle, because it is so pretty. |

And due to my wife's persistent (but polite) nagging at B-J in the months prior to the auction, they sent us two free all-week passes to the auction |
