Rechroming rear bumber

Well, almost a year after "finishing" my car, I put the NOS rear bumper guards on it. They look great.
Bumper is very dull in comparison. Bumper has the slightest of pitting, and may polish up, but it also has one small ding. So, if I want it to look as good as the guards, I will need to replate.

Have heard good things about tri city in TN. Is that still a good choice?
I am in Oklahoma City. I used a local plater to do the gold cad on my disc brake brackets and silver on the backing plates, and they did a fine job. But... I have never used them for chrome, and don't know anyone else who has. Would like to do this one time, and one time only. Tri city gives a lifetime warranty.

Any personal experience?

I have had two Firebird and one Charger bumpers done by Tri City over the years. I was very pleased with all of them.

Whatever you do, DONT use Bumperboys. I have only heard bad things about their relating efforts.

Tri-city does a great job for a reasonable price with a lifetime warranty.

I had trouble with Bumper Boyz on front and rear 68 chevelle bumpers. I have to be up front, I never gave them a chance to fix the plating issues, because I sold the car, and the new owner said he could live with it. The plating peeled back from an edge on both bumpers.

I just got both of mine rechromed by Superior Chrome in Houston. They have been in business a long time and offer a lifetime warranty. Mine look great, Bobby Baker is a great guy and I got free door to door service (his wife is from Rochester). http://www.superiorchrome.com

I am looking for the same Lynn. I sent mine to a place in northern ohio. Owner said he thought they could do them for $500 each. The get them and now 800 and a month later. Talked to place in Portland Indiana and he said last nice camaros he did was 550. I have heard ok comments on tri city. After my first experience I would like to drop them off.

I would go repop for them. Way to much money for the chroming process and the trip back and forth. I have a real nice repop and really can't tell. It bolts right up to the original brackets with no issues.

I wanted to share experiences with bumper boys. My dad has a 57 ford retractable and he got bumpers from them. He had trouble with the rear one cracking. From what I remember they replaced it. Then he had a problem replacement and from what I remember the original warrantee wasn't good on the replacement.
My buddy wanted a 442 bumper and we met them at a swap meet and looked at 3 or 4 and none of them looked good. One had odd look to plating, one had been real bad before they plated it and back looked terrible. Rust fell out of box when we opened it up!

Sam:

I have become so leary of anything repop. As you know my car has almost no repop stuff. I have aftermarket front seat covers (but I have a VERY NICE set of used ones that will eventually go on) an aftermarket headliner, one lense in the dash, stainless brake and fuel lines, spectre tank, some weather strip (and I hate it) and that is about it. Yeah, I do have some bolt ons, but nothing that can't be reversed.

Apparently there are three sources of rear bumpers, Goodmark, AMD and some really cheap overseas crap that most of the vendors sell as "good quality". Normally, AMD stuff isn't bad, but I found one guy whose AMD bumper was reportedly longer on one side than the other.

Looks like a good quality repop will be around $180 - 190 shipped.

I am fine spending about double that to have my original rechromed.
