REAR Z28 STRIPES
I apologize if some where this has been discussed before.
I noticed on C. Lillard's 1970 Z28 (1100 mi. one) that the rear stripes do not contact the rear window trim, almost like it was a vinyl top car. I know it's a Van Nuys car and wondered if that was how it was done on the Left Coast? Maybe Charlie can chime in... Dicky |

Though a little hard to see, Mark Mitchell's Van Nuys car is also done the same way (pictured). Through the research I found on these cars not all Van Nuys 70's were done this way but there are many original samples showing this to be correct.

Re: REAR Z28 STRIPES
If you notice, the van nuys cars rear stripes are closer together than the Norwood cars.

Re: REAR Z28 STRIPES
Dicky, small changes are not uncommon between plants. They find a better way to do things and implement them. I see this between the 7 Chevelle plants in 1970 all the time. Just one of the many reasons why doing your homework is so important when restoring these cars.
That being said I recently found out that the NOS tail lights that came with this car are for the RS and should not have the stainless trim around them. Learn something new every day. |

Having seen this car in person I can honestly say the pictures don't do this car justice......Rick did an outstanding job restoring this car and is probably one of the nicest in the country! Rick, you are a true craftsman in every sense of the word! |

Yes Buddy I've noticed that narrowing on some cars. Stripes are one of several things that annoy me with cars, they are never put down right (square corners,[notChevelles Rick] widths, etc.) another thing are shift knobs with shift patterns (non console car) and the console with the pattern also.
