Re: 1969 Camaro X443 ?
That is an LA trim tag I believe...that is not the X codes that they used on the Norwood cars... I believe that is some internal plant code..and just a coincidence that it contains x-44..
please correct me if i am wrong... |

Re: 1969 Camaro X443 ?
The code on Van Nuys plant tags are for internal factory scheduling. The letter is a day of month code and the numbers are just sequence if the schedule.
I'm not sure it is a real Z, some signs of it and some not. Jan |
Re: 1969 Camaro X443 ?
Clearly it looks to be an early built Van Nuys car (LOS) and looks to have 10D on the body tag (4th. week October). There were no X coded cars built in the Van Nuys plant. They were built in Norwood. According to Jerry MacNeish's fact book, X coded cars were stamped on the body tags at about December, 1968. Not quite sure what that X443 means on that trim plate but X44 is a base car. X33 and X77 were stamped on Z/28's. Hope this helps.
