I've had that material in the air cleaner on my Chevelle for a while now, and haven't had a problem yet.

Be pretty carfull what you use for an element..I used a similar material that was intended for motorcycle use
Ran ran ok until you got on it, then it would die....super restrictive..at least for my L-88
