NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
WHAT IS A NOS BIG BLOCK OPEN AIR ELEMENT AIR CLEANER NEW IN THE BOX WORTH? THANKS, JEFF
|
Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
Does the lid have the silk screening under it?
|
Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
THE LID DOES NOT HAVE THE SILK SCREENING. IT WAS PURCHASED FROM A CHEVY DEALER IN 2000. THANKS, JEFF

Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
Because of that and being dated that late,it probably has the later designed erratically curved PCV tube too that most aren't looking for on a concourse resto.
As opposed to the smooth 90° bend most crave. IMHO $20-$40 |
Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
$20-40 for a nos lid, base, and element? I imagine correct or not it should fetch at least a couple hundred, likely more depending on what it is. I have sold mid 80s nos units for $300-$500 on no reserve eBay listings.

Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
To each his own.Mid 80's is not than the year 2000.
There's nothing unique about its parts or design, and add onto that it was made in the year 2000. It's a functional piece, but an era correct assembly line designed piece. Those knock off diamond mesh air filters & thin metal chrome lids with no silk screening are a very common, more then most think and the base is nothing special to write home about. Granted this is a clean new world unused GM part, and that's where it's value is,but it can still be bought new over the counter today for a lil more then I quoted if for sale. I've seen two of these for sale here this year w/an asking price of $75,which eventually came down to $40-$50 at local swap meets. They're nice units that function well. |
Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
Point taken. If they are still available today, do you know the part number?
Thanks, Jason |
Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
I'd say $250 up.

Re: NOS BIG BLOCK AIR CLEANER
Cheapest Repro on eBay
So I think a GM NOS unit would be worth more than the $95 Repro in the link above. |
