Expensive if it is a reproduction restoration. If it is truly done right, has original panels, driveline and parts it would be hard to duplicate yet still expensive. I see a lot of incorrect cheap aftermarket parts in the bay

Torque boxes, frame rails, floor pans and cowl are particular areas of concern on unibody Mustangs.

I can help you if interested. Appraisals, evaluations, parts, restorations etc is what I do.

40k for what looks like a pretty plain jane car seems pretty high.

Maybe that's just me. The only Mustang I ever owned, I gave away.

If you are going to get into that kind of money, I would look for something more special.

Like this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1965-Ford...=item2328b20a4b

Don't know the seller, and of course you can't spend that kind of money on ebay without having someone check it out thoroughly.

Or this one, if you can stand the stripes: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1965-Ford...=item2c6d0b5b09

And that one has a near twin: http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1965-must...=item3f22faa253

Not recommending any of these. Just thing the 40k one is overpriced.
I also don't know near as much about these cars as SportyWorty. I did, however, spend a year working for a guy that did nothing but buy two wrecked Mustangs (one hit in front, one hit in rear) and make one car out of them.

based on what you have presented between 8-25K. Not trying to be difficult but unless you know more than has been presented. It is anybodys guess the true structural integrity of the car let alone all of the other due diligence requirements when purchasing a 40+ year old car ie history, paperwork, receipts etc etc. Get a Marti Report

39.9 seems high to me. I helped a widow friend sell her deceased husbands 67 390/C6 fastback with air last year. The car was solid and the drivetrain was fresh...she managed to get 24K for it which I thought was fair market value.

I realize Mustangs are expensive but a 302 GT seems kinda off the hook, AC stick or not.
