Z28 fan into shroud??
 

Hey guys, I'm still batteling my 302 overheating, I've had the radiator rodded out, still running warm. My fan doesn't sit in the shroud!! Stock radiator, stock fan and shroud. Anyone have pics of a z28 fan/shroud, how far they sit in? Trying to figure out what's wrong. I put a diff radiator in the car , with a deep shroud and it runs 180 all day in the heat of summer.

The fan blades should be halfway in/out of the shroud. In other words, if you were to look straight down at them, you should only see the back half of the blades. The front half should be hidden in the shroud.

Somewhere is a thread about fan clutches and how the replacement ones are set to a higher temp than you want. Also in the thread is shown the way to fix it. Might try that.

Its not 180 in the heat of summer with the original radiator, its 180 with a little larger radiator and that raditor takes a different shroud with is deeper, then it works great. With the original radiator, stock fan and shroud its 200 + and its not even that hot of a summer day
