Re: Jr Thompson Funny Car Found!
Im not sure just yet, Im glad the original flames lettering and numbers are still on the car, made for a easy ID Im going to try and wet sand a small spot on the Rebellion and see if the original lettering is still under it but no where else. The Thompsons have been told I have the car and there may be chance Junior or his son will want it back. Im just happy to get it out of a scrap yard and inside for now.

WOW and congrats!!!

Re: Jr Thompson Funny Car Found!
The original Ken Cox chassis is MIA but im working on a lead where I found the body makes me think it has a jeep body and paddles on it now... If I cant find the original chassis I will try and locate a Ken Cox of the era. The Donovan I think Junior kept I plan on talking to him and try to figure out how it ended up where it did.

Nice find. I have a Jr. Thompson built, Joe Reath machined 392 stroker Hemi in my hot-rod.

Verry cool Tony! I spoke with Tommy last night JR is not feeling well at the moment but Tommy said without a doubt this is the car. I got it here last evening the folks were real nice who I got if from and helped load it up, I gave my driver a HAAS Net as I call them to put over the car during transport, here are some pics the car has never been repainted what looked to be white is where the sun has actually faded the red candy off but most of the original art work is still there and the original decals are still there. http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...ass/002-47.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...ass/006-28.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...lass/033-2.jpg http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/d...lass/017-8.jpg |
