I think just the Impala series was assembled @ their Los Angeles facility..
Southgate Ca. did them too.
Fremont Ca. did the Chevelle.

The reason I was asking is I located a 396 325hp engine the has 6L140992 & I didn't know what car is came from. Is there a orphan's list for Impalas?...Joe

Joe, For the '66 model year, the Los Angeles plant built full size and Corvair models.

Joe, what's the assembly date next to the partial vin and if you can see it, the casting date on the side of the block by the freeze plugs?
