Cool Deuce pic
Very old school, love the hood scoop. Will post more pics asap. This is one of Andy's Deuces, a W.R. Austin car from S. Norwalk, CT.

Re: Cool Deuce pic
hopefully the car will be redone in its true nature and not another cookie cutter resto. A great picture with even greater history I bet! MORE!

Nothing wrong with cookie cutter, to each their own!

Re: Cool Deuce pic
Actually it pretty much is a day 2 drag car. it has 12.5 pistons,a 555 lift solid cam, hooker headers,an 8 inch conv,a set of old lakewood trac bars & vintage tow tabs.I might even find a vintage tunnel ram since it will have the hood on it anyways. Its probably gonna have slicks on steelies and skinnies. If anyone knows where to get a glass hood reproed I would greatly appreciate it.The hood was on the car as far back as 72or73.Real cool metal flake style Yenko crest on the side of the scoop and painted on stripes & "deuce".The car was orig paint(except primer on roof from previous owner)and has 20,4xx miles.I still have the WR Austin trunk emblem and the black and chrome Yenko emblems.

Re: Cool Deuce pic
Tunnel ram would be a must for me. Just about every Nova in the east coast magazines cira 1973 had a TR. We just had a neat thread on Steve's Nova Site about street driven TR.
Got any more pics to share? Certainly would love to see some of it's early days. I'll try and see if I've got anything relevant for similar hood and under hood pics. I'm with Sam on staying away from the cookie cutter resto. When a car has something to give it some unique character, and it is legitimately and historically correct for a specific vehicle, it seems a shame to wash it all away. There are enough YD that have been restored to Day 1 status anyways. Congratulations and good luck! |
Re: Cool Deuce pic
The Roofs had bought the tunnel ram set up, 4.88 gears, for their Deuce by the mid 70s and were prepared to cut their hood but did not get around to installing them.
Nice Deuce Andy. Pls keep us posted on your progress. i like where you are headed with this. |
