value of old pictures as documentation

I was going through a ton of color pictures I have for a 61 vette I have that I am going to sell. How do you gauge the value of pictures toward authentication of a car? I have protecto plate on my 69 camaro, I have the IBM card from chrysler for a 67 hemi car I have. But on the vette I have, all I have are old registrations back to 67, the old original california black plates, and the color pictures the original owner took. Some pictues are with a baby seat in the middle of the 2 seats which is really cool (yes I know that won't add value, just humor). Do pictues really add any real value on authentication when it comes down to a sale? Its a fuelie and the fuelie script on the fenders shows up in the pictures. But is that good enough for someone if there is no protecto plate or window sticker? Any opinions welcome.

Sometimes...it's better? I would think that original unretouched pictures would be harder to fake than some documentation?

i would say that they do add value, how much i cant say. but it does prove ownership back to 67 and what the car looked like at the time. the car hasnt been through twenty owners who may or may not have changed things.

Pictures of a 50 yr old car since it was only six yrs old? priceless. Reg stubs and orig plates are great too! They certainly can't hurt the value, and will lend truth to length of ownership. Put all that documentation in an album (or scans of it).

Documentation such as that will only build value... cool stuff.

Vintage pics can't hurt the value. (given they don't show it as twisted tin sculpture)
Now... RAIIIT/A lets start a new thread and lets see some pics of what appears to be a Blue on Blue 70 T/A! RA III I'm guessing.

RAIII TA - Please start your own thread... LOVE those cars!

Maybe it's me and I'm just a picture collector but I would willingly be more interested in two comparable cars if the second had photos from the day. Day-2 mods, maybe the owners standing with the car, with a date would be amazing but without is cool too... I think there should be a small increase in value if the car has such paper.
